TOO MOO Charity Bike Ride - A Legendary Effort!!!

Saturday's (2nd May) 220km ride from Toowoomba to Mooloolaba was legendary on its own but made more so by the challenges on Friday. The event had been meticulously planned by David Fellows but nature intervened. The wild weather on Friday afternoon stranded some riders short of Toowoomba with others arriving in the small hours of the morning. One group spent seven hours in a bus stationary in Caboolture. Nevertheless, after a couple hours sleep they were on their bikes guided by TOO MOOs, pairs of supporters dressed in cow "onesies" and, in the later stages, by SCRDA volunteers, arriving at the Mooloolaba Surf Club on time at 4:30PM.

The smile says it all, about five mintues from the Mooloolaba Surf Club.

A tremendous effort from the riders and a big thank you from SCRDA. The money raised will go towards constructing a hydraulic lift platform to enable riders with disabilities to mount horses safely.

The grit and determination shown by the riders has parallels with the SCRDA clients making the most of their abilities.

A big thank you to David Fellows who spent most of the dark hours of Saturday morning on the phone and computer updating arrangements disrupted by the weather.
